Wat is CLASS?What is CLASS?
CLASS is een hulpmiddel voor het bepalen van de juiste 8-cijferige GN-code (Gecombineerde Nomenclatuur) voor goederen die u importeert of exporteert binnen de EU. De engine kijkt naar de tekstuele omschrijving van uw product en past de WCO General Rules of Interpretation (GRI) toe om tot een classificatie te komen.
De classificatie wordt onderbouwd met:
- EU-scope-notes en Explanatory Notes (CN-toelichtingen)
- Classification Regulations (EU-verordeningen die specifieke producten classificeren)
- CJEU-arresten (Europees Hof van Justitie tarief-uitspraken)
- BTI-precedenten uit de EU EBTI-database — Bindende Tariefinformatie afgegeven door lidstaten
- Nederlands woordenboek (Wiktionary NL + Open Dutch WordNet) voor semantische decompositie van samengestelde woorden
CLASS is a tool for determining the correct 8-digit CN code (Combined Nomenclature) for goods you import or export within the EU. The engine analyses the textual product description and applies the WCO General Rules of Interpretation (GRI) to arrive at a classification.
Classifications are substantiated by:
- EU scope notes and Explanatory Notes
- Classification Regulations
- CJEU rulings (European Court of Justice tariff decisions)
- BTI precedents from the EU EBTI database — Binding Tariff Information issued by member states
- Dutch dictionary (Wiktionary NL + Open Dutch WordNet) for semantic decomposition of compound words

U zit nooit vast aan één uitkomst — broer-CN's onder dezelfde subheading worden getoond zodat u kunt overrulen.You are never stuck with one outcome — sibling CN codes under the same subheading are shown so you can override.
Bij onbekende samengestelde woorden (bijv. een prefix die semantisch bij een ander hoofdstuk hoort dan de suffix) stelt de engine een verduidelijkingsvraag i.p.v. gokken.On unknown compound words (e.g. a prefix that semantically belongs to a different chapter than the suffix) the engine asks a clarification question instead of guessing.
Het exportrapport bevat GRI-motivering, EU-regelgeving, BTI-precedenten, essential-character-motivering (GRI 3(b)), bijlagen-sectie en UCC Art. 51 bewaartermijn-clausule.The export report contains GRI reasoning, EU regulations, BTI precedents, essential character reasoning (GRI 3(b)), attachment section and UCC Art. 51 retention clause.
