De CN-codeThe CN code

Elke uitkomst is een 8-cijferige CN-code (Combined Nomenclature) — de EU-standaard voor tarief- en statistiekaangiften. De opbouw is hiërarchisch:

  • 61 — Hoofdstuk (chapter): 2 cijfers, de brede categorie
  • 6110 — Post (heading): 4 cijfers, specifieke productgroep
  • 611011 — Subheading: 6 cijfers, wereldwijd HS-niveau
  • 61101130 — CN8: 8 cijfers, EU-aangiftecode
  • 6110113000 — TARIC: 10 cijfers (voor specifieke maatregelen zoals antidumping)

De 8-cijferige CN is wat u opgeeft in uw invoer- of uitvoeraangifte.

Every outcome is an 8-digit CN code (Combined Nomenclature) — the EU standard for tariff and statistical declarations. Hierarchical structure:

  • 61 — Chapter: 2 digits, broad category
  • 6110 — Heading: 4 digits, specific product group
  • 611011 — Subheading: 6 digits, worldwide HS level
  • 61101130 — CN8: 8 digits, EU declaration code
  • 6110113000 — TARIC: 10 digits (specific measures like anti-dumping)

The 8-digit CN is what you enter in your import or export declaration.

De sterkte-badgeThe strength badge

Naast de CN-code toont een gekleurde badge de bron-sterkte van de classificatie:

✓ STERK
Sterk vertrouwen — de classificatie komt uit een curated bron (EBTI-precedent, handmatig gevalideerd, EU Classification Regulation) en betreft een exacte 8-cijferige match. Vaak wordt de code door meerdere EU-lidstaten in BTI-precedenten bevestigd.
MATIG
Redelijk vertrouwen — één curated bron of de classificatie wees op heading-niveau (relatie=anker). De code klopt hoogstwaarschijnlijk, maar controleer of er in uw context specifiekere sub-CN's van toepassing zijn.
⚠ TWIJFEL
Laag vertrouwen — de bron is probabilistisch (AI-mining, semantic search zonder curated support). De engine adviseert om alternatieven te bekijken of doorvragen alvorens de code te gebruiken in een aangifte.

Bij TWIJFEL en géén BTI-precedent, downgradet de engine automatisch de uitkomst tot ONBEPAALD en presenteert broer-CN's als keuzevraag.

Next to the CN code, a coloured badge shows the source strength:

✓ STRONG
High confidence — curated source (BTI precedent, manually validated, EU Regulation) with exact 8-digit match. Often confirmed by multiple EU member state BTIs.
MODERATE
Reasonable confidence — single curated source or heading-level match (anchor relation). The code is likely correct but check for more specific sub-CN's.
⚠ UNCERTAIN
Low confidence — probabilistic source (AI mining, semantic search without curated support). The engine recommends reviewing alternatives before use in a declaration.

On UNCERTAIN with no BTI precedent, the engine automatically downgrades to INDETERMINATE and presents sibling CN's as a choice question.

Deze codes verschillen typisch op één criterium (materiaal, gewicht, doelgroep). Als de engine onvoldoende zekerheid heeft, stelt hij een verduidelijkingsvraag i.p.v. te gokken. Twee veelvoorkomende vraagtypes:

Compound-verduidelijking

Bij samengestelde woorden waarvan alleen de suffix bekend is: "'vest' herkend, maar 'scherfvest' is een onbekend samengesteld woord. Welke soort vest bedoelt u?" — u kunt kiezen uit alle EU-headings waar bekende *vest-varianten in voorkomen (kleding, bescherming, redding, ...).

Chapter-conflict

Als het prefix in het woordenboek een ander hoofdstuk suggereert dan de suffix: "Woordenboek-signaal: 'motor' wijst op hoofdstuk 84, maar suffix-mapping wees op hoofdstuk 96. Welk hoofdstuk klopt?" — u kiest het hoofdstuk waarmee de engine verder gaat.

Materiaal / doelgroep-vraag

Bij kleding zonder materiaal- of doelgroep-info: "Van welk materiaal is dit kledingstuk vervaardigd?" — antwoord kan uit uw omschrijving worden ingelezen als u die aanvult.

When the engine has insufficient certainty, it asks a clarification question instead of guessing. Common question types:

Compound clarification

Compound words where only the suffix is known: "'vest' recognised, but 'ballistic vest' is unknown. Which kind of vest do you mean?" — pick from all EU headings with known *vest variants.

Chapter conflict

Dictionary signal on prefix points to different chapter than suffix: "Dictionary: 'motor' points to chapter 84, but suffix mapping said 96. Which is correct?"

Material / target-group

For clothing without material or target info: "What material is this garment made of?"
